Eurpean Largest Gold Mine Head for Referendum

Romania's President advices to vote on whether allow the Europe's would be largest gold mine project or not. Opponents hold that gold mine will use the massive cyanide, which would seriously damage environment. On September 1st, 2000 protests marched on the streets of Bucharest against Gold mining. Romania's President Traian Basescu said there will be a referendum in the next year. Canadian company Gabriel Resources, developer of this project, worries that the referendum will delay the vote.
